When a file review alone isn't enough, MMRO provides in-person evaluations that bring deeper clinical insight to the most complex disability cases.
Conducted by board-certified physicians, psychologists, neuropsychologists, and credentialed specialists, our evaluations are tailored to the unique medical, vocational, or functional questions at hand.
An Independent Medical Evaluation (IME) provides an objective, in-person assessment of an individual's medical condition by a board-certified physician with no prior treatment relationship.
MMRO's IMEs address questions of diagnosis, causation, treatment appropriateness, functional capacity, and prognosis — giving clients a clear, impartial clinical opinion they can rely on for complex disability determinations.
Independent Medical Evaluations
Independent Psychiatric Evaluations
Independent Psychiatric Evaluations (IPEs) assess an individual's mental health condition, diagnosis, and functional capacity through an in-person evaluation by a board-certified psychiatrist.
These evaluations are particularly valuable in cases involving mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD, or other psychiatric conditions that affect a claimant's ability to work. They provide a thorough clinical picture, addressing diagnosis, severity, treatment, and work-related functional impairment with the precision disability decisions require.
Neuropsychological Evaluations
Neuropsychological evaluations provide a comprehensive assessment of cognitive function — including memory, attention, executive function, language, and processing speed — through a combination of clinical interview and standardized neuropsychological testing.
Performed by a licensed neuropsychologist, these evaluations are essential in cases involving traumatic brain injury, neurological disease, cognitive impairment, or suspected symptom exaggeration.
Independent Psychological Evaluations
Independent Psychological Evaluations combine a clinical interview with standardized psychological testing to provide an in-depth assessment of cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning.
Conducted by a licensed psychologist, these evaluations use validated instruments to objectively measure symptoms, personality factors, and functional capacity — helping clients make informed decisions in cases where mental health, symptom validity, or psychological functioning is in question.
Functional Capacity Evaluations
Functional Capacity Evaluation measures an individual's physical ability to perform work-related tasks through a series of standardized physical and observational tests.
Conducted by a credentialed physical or occupational therapist, an FCE objectively assesses strength, endurance, mobility, lifting capacity, and tolerance for various postures and activities.
The result is a defensible, evidence-based picture of what a claimant can and cannot physically do — critical information for return-to-work, disability, and accommodation decisions.
Vocational Assessments
Vocational Assessment, sometimes referred to as a Labor Market Survey, evaluates an individual's transferable skills, education, and work history against current labor market conditions to determine realistic employment options.
Conducted by a certified vocational expert, the assessment identifies suitable occupations, wage potential, and local job availability based on the claimant's documented physical, cognitive, and functional capacities.
