ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE DISCLOSURE
Effective Date: July, 2026
Managed Medical Review Organization, Inc. ("MMRO") is committed to transparency in how we use technology. This disclosure explains where artificial intelligence ("AI") fits into our operations, and just as importantly, where it does not.
HOW MMRO USES AI
MMRO may use AI tools to support administrative tasks and processing. This includes tasks such as organizing, classifying, and indexing medical records and claim files so that case materials reach our reviewers in a well-organized form. These tools help our staff work efficiently.
WHAT AI IS NOT USED FOR
AI is not used in, or to replace, clinical decision making or claim outcomes in any way. Every review determination made by MMRO is the independent judgment of a qualified, credentialed clinical reviewer. No AI tool recommends, influences, or decides the outcome of any review or claim.
OVERSIGHT & GOVERNANCE
AI tools at MMRO are governed by our internal AI governance program. Before any AI tool is put into use, it is evaluated for security, privacy, and compliance with our obligations under SOC2, HIPAA and our URAC accreditation standards. Approved tools are utilized by human employees of MMRO and require human oversight and ongoing monitoring. All information processed by these tools remains protected under MMRO’s secure IT infrastructure.
CHANGES TO THIS DISCLOSURE
We may revise and/or update this disclosure from time to time in our sole and absolute discretion. All changes are effective immediately when we post them. Please check this disclosure periodically for updates.
