Joseph Schimizzi is the President and CEO of Managed Medical Review Organization, Inc. As the lead executive of MMRO, Joe has taken his experience and applied it to the ever changing disability and healthcare sector. He has lead the company in providing new and innovative service offerings to the disability marketplace, specifically that of public employee retirement systems. Joe has lead MMRO’s executive team in applying industry standards to newly developed public pension disability programs offering greater independence, accuracy, and sizeable return on investment. In the health care arena Joe has brought leading medical professionals and clinicians together to develop credible medical review programs.
Joe founded MMRO in 2007 while the acting Owner and President of MLS Group of Companies, Inc., a leading national IME and Peer Review company servicing the Disability and Workers’ Compensation markets. Joe exited that industry in 2011 to focus on new developments with MMro. Joe graduated in 2000 from Michigan State University earning a Bachelor’s degree in Finance.

Dr. Jeffrey Deitch serves as the Executive Medical Director of Managed Medical Review Organization, Inc. Dr. Deitch is the senior clinical person and also acts as a resource with the clinical aspects of the operation. He is an actively practicing physician, board certified in Family Practice and Geriatrics. He maintains affiliation with three major teaching hospitals in the State of Michigan. Dr. Deitch was Senior Medical Director in the public sector for more than 20 years with the Michigan Peer Review Organization. Dr. Deitch is an active board certified member of The American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. Dr. Deitch has over 20 years’ experience conducting and managing medical review services and an excess of 15 years’ experience with Utilization Management, Disability Management and Quality Improvement programs. Dr. Deitch’s experience leads to an in-depth understanding of disability and return-to-work, medical care matters, clinical case management, compensability issues, and is able to incorporate a practicing physician’s perspective into the clinical basis of a disability management program.

Brenda DeGroat, RN, BS, MA serves as the Vice President of Clinical Programs and is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing clinical programmatic opportunities for MMRO. The VP of Clinical Programs is involved in strategic corporate decision making and is further responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and reporting on identified Quality Management Programs.
Brenda graduated from Hurley Medical Center School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from Central Michigan University in Community Development, Health Sciences and received a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Spring Arbor University. She has been continually employed in the health care field for the past 31 years, and her clinical background includes experience in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Prior to beginning her tenure with MMRO, she most recently served as the Senior Director of Quality Management for a large Physician-Hospital Organization where she had responsibility and oversight for the development and growth of their Quality Management department.

Erich Kelly serves as Vice President of National Sales & Marketing and is responsible for developing and implementing an overall marketing and sales strategy for company services, including coordinating advertising, sales operations, cultivating client trust, improving or adding new service design, managing sales force productivity, demonstrating customer service, leadership and leading change.
Prior to joining MMRO, Erich gained valuable experience working with hospitals in acute care settings, implementing Biotech, Pharmaceutical and Medical Device products onto hospital formularies. Erich's call points consisted of physicians, licensed medical clinicians and non-medical staff.
Erich is public member of the Board of Trustees for the American Board of Wound Management (ABWM) Foundation and has earned certification in Certified Professional Disability Management (CPDM). Erich earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Communications from Oakland University.

Douglas Minke serves as the Vice President of Corporate Development, General Counsel and has the responsibility for the management and oversight of departmental operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance to program standards. The VP of Corporate Development, General Counsel is charged with the executive sponsorship of key operational areas as delegated to the Operations Supervisors. The VP of Corporate Development, General Counsel is responsible for MMRO’s accreditation and compliance programs, along with all legal oversight, contracting and risk management of MMRO.
Prior to joining MMRO, Doug worked for ten years as a business and transactional attorney advising clients that operate in highly regulated environments, including the health care, insurance, financial services and casino gaming industries. He also has extensive experience in handling complex commercial transactions and multi-jurisdictional regulatory compliance issues. Doug earned a J.D. from the Wayne State University School of Law, an M.B.A. (finance concentration) from Wayne State University, and a B.A., with honors, in history from Michigan State University.

Jon Russell serves as the Director of Information Technology for Managed Medical Review Organization, Inc. Jon brings over 20 years of IT experience to MMRO, previously serving in the roles of Technology Consultant, Project Manager and IT Manager. Jon has extensive experience in managing technical teams in the development and implementation of large scale, complex IT solutions for Fortune 50 clients in industries such as Automotive, Energy and High Tech. Most recently, Jon worked in the area of IT Cyber Security, and has implemented industry best practice, federally mandated IT Security Programs for large scale corporations.
Jon's current responsibilities include ensuring that all IT Solutions offered by MMRO directly support client requirements, and are delivered to the highest levels of quality, service and availability, strictly adhering to all HIPAA patient privacy requirements. Jon holds a Master of Business Administration and Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Detroit Mercy.
